bruceweese 25 Jul. 2010 18:33	Further research has concluded it is Alexander the Great on the obverse as the horns are a common symbol in the images of Alexander. He was ruler from 356-323 BC. However this coin is similar to other coins I have seen around 350 AD.
bruceweese 25 Jul. 2010 16:49	This is clearly an ancient Greek coin probably later than 350 AD. These coins are typically silver. This is currency that was often carried by soldiers and the image on the obverse is probably Appollo but also may be the current head of state for that period. The only way to know for sure is to consult a catalogue of Ancient Greece Coinage or to consult an expert on those coins. This coin is in relatively good condition for it's age and therefore likely worth several hundred dollars.
