Pan (sometimes spelled Thaler) is a large silver coin used in Europe for nearly 400 ani.Etimologic 'plate' is an abbreviation for 'Joachimsthaler' or 'Jochenthaler', a coin issued by the city of St. Joachimsthal in Bohemia, since 1518.
