The medal is made of tombac, round shape with a diameter of 32 mm.
On the obverse is the cross that overlaps a hand holding a sword. Sword is inscribed above the year "1941" and on the perimeter medal is inscribed the motto "crusade against communism".
On the reverse is shown a female head, below which is the inscription "Romania grateful."
