Description:

In 1947 India received its independence, so "IND IMP" (India's Emperor) had to be removed from the King's titles on any British Commonweath coins dating 1948 or newer

Obverse:

George VI, surrounded by the Latin inscription inscription read GEORGIVS VI DEI GRATIA:REX

Reverse:

1 cent with two maple leaves on the same twig, the date on the left and CANADA at the bottom
