Obv. Description Left facing portrait of President George Washington with the words United States of America circling the top and Quarter Dollar circling the bottom. Under his chin is the word Liberty and behind his head are the words In God We Trust. Below this is the D mint mark.
Rev. Description On the Alabama coin double dated 1819 at the top and 2003 at the bottom is a right facing image of Helen Keller seated with her name in front of her and braile above it. The words Spirit of Courage under her and sprays of flowers on either side of the coin. The words E Pluribus Unum are on the bottom of the coin below the issue date.
