Emperor Charles VI of the Holy Roman Empire, Archduke of Austria, was from 1705 to 1714 also pretender to the Spanish throne as Charles (Carlos) III.
He lost his claims on Spain in 1714, but received the Spanish Netherlands as a compensation.
