General Description Rhyton of Poroina, Mehedinţi County has existed between 2300 and 2500 estimated year thus dating from 500-300 BC. Hr.
The name "rhyton" comes from the ancient Greek word rhein - stream. It is a vessel used in rituals, at first being a horn, and later shaped zoomorphic (animal). Such a vessel having two holes, one which pour liquid wide and one narrow, which drink and be kept closed with your thumb. Most often, the rython drink wine.
Rythonul of Poroina is silver with gold parts with 9 inches in diameter at the rim, height 28 cm and weighing about 350 grams. Does one bull head shape, but without horns and ears, Gavanele ochilorfiind empty (all originally existed).
