Baby Woodchucks: Also known as groundhogs or whistle pigs, woodchucks are born bald and blind near the end of March or early April in litters of 2 to 9. Prey to foxes, hawks, coyotes, and dogs, they begin life outside the burrow with short trips to eat grass and clover.
By midsummer, these “teenage” groundhogs will leave their natal den, and move into their own starter burrows, which are usually no more than a few yards away.
The baby animals for 2013 are a porcupine, a black bear, a deer and a group of woodchucks
First issued with the P marking but re-issued with the price of 63 since the announcement in december 2013 of all stamp prices going up in March 2014.
