| General Description : | he International Four Day Marches Nijmegen (or Vierdaagse) is the largest marching event in the world. It is organised every year in Nijmegen,The Netherlands,in mid-July as a means of promoting sport and exercise. Participants walk 30, 40 or 50 kilometres daily, and, on completion, receive a royally approved medal (Vierdaagsekruis (4 Days Cross)) from Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. Originally a military event with a few civilians, it is now mainly a civilian event. Military category: 40km x 4days - Wearing uniform + at least 10kg backpack (+ water etc.). |
