Azerbaijan formally the Republic of Azerbaijan is one of the six independent Turkic states in the Caucasus region of Eurasia. Located at the crossroads of Eastern Europe and Western Asia, it is bounded by the Caspian Sea to the east, Russia to the north, Georgia to the northwest, Armenia to the west, and Iran to the south.
The Manat is the currency of Azerbaijan. It is subdivided into 100 qəpik. The word manat is borrowed from the word "moneta" (coin) which is pronounced as "maneta".
